Saurkraut

I'm easing back into a lifestyle where I'm not counting calories, exactly, but roughly estimating them at least.

All bets were off while we were away on holiday; saucisson, camenbert, baguettes and beer were guzzled with abandon, but for a decent period before that I was doing pretty well with my diet.

One of the unexpected results of it was to make me really appreciate food whose tastiness was not derived purely from sugar, fat and carbs. Boiled eggs, grapes, apple, cauliflower... these things became my treats.

Anyway, we're getting back to that now, and C's mum had homemade saurkraut when we statyed with them, so I'm giving it a go.

This is day 2:

Large kilner jar half-full of compact shredded cabbage.

2023-08-20 for the record, since I haven't included dates in my blog post layout. I should do that now that I have a use-case.
