Good things
Work
- "finished" my Bootstrap migration work
- flagged the process gap for cookie management
- liaised with the design team about token implementation
- found a good solution to styling that 3rd party widget
- did my proof of concept webpack pipeline
- dealt with some BAU that I didn't need to, strictly speaking
Domestic
- finshed my first minicomic of the 12 I want to do in 2024
- found an application to format pdfs as booklets FINALLY
- figured out a process to reformat things via CLI
- refilled the printer and printed stuff
- Tiny Dungeon session zero with CK, TQ and KM
- did the 5k park run (first time) in 34 mins
- listened to loads of new music with the kids
- ate reasonably well
Conclusion
Despite being a solid week of good stuff there were times I felt down. That rollercoaster of emotions you experience as a developer being stuck on a technical problem, making progress and being elated… before slamming into the next problem and being stuck again. If I don't get closure on a problem at the end of a day or week, it really bums me out.
Anyway, that's why it's good to pay attention to the good things and note them, and help them redress these kinds of mood imbalances.
