After two intense sprints back-to-back followed by two holidays back-to-back I'm craving a return to a life/work rhythm that's more measured and predictble, so I'm consciously trying to make that happen.
Work
There still seems to be an artificial sense of urgency around this rebranding work, but having sussed what the actual release schedule is likely to be, I'm not stressing myself out too much about it. I have a snagging list that's full of tiny discrepancies with the design and by definition these have a very low RoI.
I need to hunt down where in this randomly structured forms project (say) a fieldset border color is being set and change it from one shade of grey to an impercepbibly different one 🙄
Anyway, here's my Good Stuff list for work this week:
- The PO is back from AL, so things should be a bit more controlled going forward
- I drew some lines in the sand around how much I was going to facilitate solutions to blockers
- Had a vey interesting conversation with the Performance Marketing manager (and blogged it internally)
- Got through my work in way that felt sustainable.
Life
I kept a note of Good Stuff this week, as it felt like a lot:
- New recipes: Cauliflower & Potato curry; Halloumi, chickpea, giant couscous traybake; Tofu Katsu
- Journalled some dreams in (mostly) comic form
- Went on two runs in the week and did Parkrun on Saturday
- Got Portmaster running on the 35XX+ and the RBG30
- Got cheats working on RGB30
- Got back on the diet and lost a few pounds
- J & L came and stayed on Sataurday night
- K's doing some really nice artwork on Scratch
- R's getting interested in learing Scratch
- I started doing a Godot tutorial, and I'm really enjoying that
- Got the Heart TTRPG book… though I highly doubt I'll ever play it 😅
